Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
Pharos is a product of Cognitech Business Intelligence ("Cognitech", "we", "us"), a company based in Guatemala. This policy describes what data we collect, how we process it, and what rights you have over it.
Data we collect
Pharos operates anonymously by default. We collect only:
- The CSV or Excel file you upload: it contains the marketing data you ask us to analyze. We do not link this file to your identity unless you complete payment.
- The email address you provide at Recurrente checkout: used exclusively to send you the download link for your report.
- Your IP address: recorded to apply per-IP usage limits and protect the service.
- Report metadata: selected language, generation date, unique report ID.
We do not use tracking cookies, we do not track your activity off-site, and we do not build user profiles.
How we process your data
Your marketing data is processed only to:
- Audit it (quality checks, granularity, columns).
- Generate the analysis and the PDF report.
- Deliver the report to you via email and a 30-day magic link.
We do not use your data to train AI models. We do not sell it to third parties. We do not share it with Cognitech clients or advertisers.
Retention
- CSV data: processed during report generation and discarded automatically afterward.
- Report PDF: stored for 30 days from the purchase date, so you can re-download it. After that period it is permanently deleted.
- Customer email: retained while the 7-day technical-failure warranty is in effect; deleted afterward.
- Payment records: Recurrente, our processor, retains them per its own policies and Guatemalan tax requirements.
Third-party processors
To operate Pharos we rely on these services:
- OpenAI (language models): processes analysis fragments to generate the report plan. Privacy policy.
- Anthropic (Claude models): generates the narrative content of the report. Privacy policy.
- Supabase (database and storage): hosts audit records and PDF files. Servers in the United States. Privacy policy.
- Recurrente (payment processing): processes the $15 USD payment and collects the customer email. Authorized and regulated payment processor in Guatemala under SAT. Privacy policy.
- Resend (email delivery): sends the magic link to the customer email. Privacy policy.
All processors follow standard data-security practices.
Your rights
Under Guatemalan data protection norms, you have the right to:
- Request access to the data we hold about you.
- Request immediate deletion of your report and associated data.
- Receive a copy of your report if you lose it within the 30-day window.
To exercise any of these rights, write to us at hello@cognitech.com.gt. We respond within 7 business days.
Security
We store data encrypted at rest and in transit. Access to servers is restricted to the Cognitech technical team. We audit access quarterly.
That said, no system is risk-free. If you detect a vulnerability or an unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
Children
Pharos is not directed at minors under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
If we modify this policy, we will publish the new version at this same URL and update the date at the top. For material changes, we will notify active customers by email.
Jurisdiction
This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Guatemala. Any dispute will be resolved in the competent courts of Guatemala City.
